Human head washes up on Florida beach

An investigation has been launched after the grim discovery in Miami with police revealing they are working on a “couple” of theories on how the head became separated.

A human head has been found washed up on a beach in Florida, according to police.

A worker who was raking the beach on Key Biscayne, Miami, reportedly made the discovery at about 8.30am on Tuesday.

Police said an investigation had been launched after sealing off the section of the beach where the head was found.

Reports said the head appeared to have come from a man, but no details have been confirmed by officers.

Police said they are working on a “couple” of theories over the death, Sky News partner network NBC News reported.

Detective Andre Martin, from Miami-Dade Police, said no other human remains had been found, adding: “We have not been able to determine exactly how the head became separated from the body, but there are a couple of working theories.”

Officers said the discovery was made on a part of a beach located close to apartments.
